Congestion Charging System                                                             Mar 02 – Sep 02

Clients: Capita Business Services Ltd., UK and Transport for London (TFL)

Congestion Charging System is a system developed for Transport for London (TfL) to ease congestion in central London. Motorists who wish to travel in or through central London will have to pay a daily charge. The scheme went live on 17th February 2003.

The London congestion charging system is N-tier application based on Microsoft.Net platform. The project involves developing the software which matches the image of a number plate snapped by a roadside camera with the vehicle's registered keeper, and deducts credits from those who have paid in advance or instigates collection procedures against those who have not.

 

 As a Developer/Analyst, was involved in:

·         Designing and development of screens for defining Documents, Paragraphs, Templates, Enclosures and Invoice Reconciliation using ASP.Net. DotNet Remoting was used to access the components in Business Tier. DotNet Caching was used to cache frequently used data.

·         Designing and development of screens for Licence Purchase and Customer and Vehicle Registration.

·         Developed an Email component to sends emails to customers using SMTP using VB.Net

·         Developed IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Interface component.

·         This project received Customer Delight Award for excellent teamwork and hard work put in by the entire team.

·         Microsoft honoured Mastek with ‘Best Solution developed on .NET’ award for its involvement in this project on .Net technology.

This was a web application developed for ViroPharma Inc. to help them automate the tracking of thousands of test tube samples collected during clinical trials for its antiviral medicine. The system is being implemented in 2 phases. The first phase is a stopgap solution with a complete solution in the next phase.

 

As a Team Leader/Consultant, was involved in:

·         Gathering and analyzing requirements from the user

·         Designing the database in SQL Server 2000 based on user requirements

·         Designing the user interface on PocketPC using VC++ and MFC

Slimline is a custom business application developed by the IT department of Nycomed Amersham, which is used to manage its Imaging and Radiotherapy business. Pharmacy Efficiencies is basically a collection of enhancements to the Slimline product. Slimline is a 3 tier distributed application with VB front end, VC++ COM objects as the middle tier and SQL Server as the database.

 

As a Consultant, was involved in:

·         Analyze change requests and make enhancements to the Customer and Orders module using VC++ and VB. The work involved adding functionality to the VB front-end as required by the business users and adding or modifying the COM components in the middle tier to support the desired functionality.

·         Making changes to reports generated using Seagate Crystal Reports.

Client: Roche Pharmaceuticals & I3SFA Inc, USA

Sales Force Integration (SFI) is a business application developed for Roche Pharmaceuticals, USA - one of the top 5 pharmaceutical companies in US, and I3SFA Inc. This application is part of the Sales Force Automation system and is designed to enable sales representatives to capture call information on the field using their Handheld PCs. The application is developed in VC++ 6.0 with backend as Pocket Access.

 

As a Project Leader/Consultant, was involved in:

·         Designing and developing front-end for a multi-tier application consisting of Windows CE User Interface, Win NT application server as the middle-tier and Oracle 8i as the back-end. Call information captured on the HPC by the sales representative is saved to a Pocket Access database on his HPC. The CE application accesses the Pocket Access database using ADOCE. The CE application is used to query customer information, manage call data and maintain user preferences. The call data is then sent to the server using XTNDConnect.

·         Developing an ActiveX Control for capturing signatures of Medical representatives on the embedded CE device (HPC).

·         Designing the database on the embedded CE device (HPC).

·         Was responsible for setting up XTNDConnect – a tool that is used to synchronize data between Oracle and Pocket Access.

·         Also developed a VB application to view the signatures and sample information that is stored in MS Access database.

·         Also responsible for developing another solutions using Oracle 8i Lite and SQL Server 2000 CE.

Policy Tracker 2                                                                                             Jul 99 – Jan 00

Client: Kemper Environmental, USA

Policy Tracker is a business application developed for Kemper Environmental. The PT2 system supports underwriting processes from initial clearance to policy issuance and maintenance. The application was developed in VC++ 6.0 with backend as SQL Server.

 

As a Consultant, was involved in:

·         Developing the rating/pricing functionality of PT2. All the Rating Models have been implemented as Excel spreadsheets. They are populated with data entered into the SQL Server database during initial submission and clearance activities using Automation. They generate a set of matrices that are saved back to the database. Data access is done through ADO. These matrices are later loaded in customized grids and presented to the customer. The Rating models also track key rating model inputs/factors for creation of customized management reports and they provide data for future risk profiling and actuarial analysis of business.

·         Also developed interface to generate one or more quote letters in Word, which contain coverage and pricing information for multiple products and key term options. Selected sections of the documents were programmatically protected so that only authorized users can make changes to the documents.

AOMPLUS                                                                                                     Dec 98 – Jun 99

Client: Hitachi Ltd., Japan

Auto-Operation Monitor Plus (AOMPLUS) is a tool developed at Hitachi in HI-UX C to monitor a remote VOS3 network from a UNIX workstation. Such monitoring includes parameters like the condition of each remote system, the job status on each system, the condition of the remote I/O controller, I/O device and others. The project involves porting this product onto HP-UX. The ported product will have a Motif and X-Windows interface and will reflect a real time TCP/IP based remote problem detection capability.

 

As a Programmer/Analyst, was involved in:

·         Developing the Code Conversion Library in C.

·         Porting the HOAPSERV Communication Library, AOMPLUS/W Debugging tool and AOMPLUS/W from HI-UX to HP-UX.

·         Developed a menu driven utility using shell scripts to automate the build of the all the modules.

·         Developing KLOC tool to calculate size of files in a project using VC++ and MFC.

·         Design and coding of the sendmail command using Windows SDK.

·         Design of GUI and coding of the batch processing utility to create electronic seals using VC++ 5.0 and MFC.

This was a conversion project. GroupMaxUp is Office Automation Software developed by Hitachi Ltd., Japan. The work involved localization of GroupMax Form, a module of GroupMaxUp from Japanese into English.

 

As a Programmer/Analyst, was involved in:

·         Integration of the Japanese and English source code containing 50 projects (Mdp.'s).

·         Making locale changes in Resource (.RC) files.

·         Modifying User Interface so that it has the look and feel of a standard Windows Application.

GroupOASquare is software developed by Hitachi that is a component of their office automation product GroupMax. GroupOASquare is used to create and edit forms that can be used by sales, purchase, and stores people. The project involved bug fixing as well as enhancements for improved performance.

 

As a Programmer/Analyst, was involved in:

·         Enhancement in the file path allocation for Macintosh. We made changes in about 90 files.

·         Implementing change requests, fixing bugs and extensive testing on Quadra and PowerMac.
